alright the car started and 3 seconds and i shut it off. had trans fluid goin everywhere. well then i went to restart it....and nothing. well im getting spark from the coil...ill check the opti in a sec. well after sitting for a short while and re adjusting the rockers arm for good measure. i tried it again. this time it would start, rev to 2 grand and die. done that twice...now it wont start. wtf?? this is weird. any one have any ideas while i go check the opti sparks spark? someone help.

Did you undo the ground bolt for the block and forget to reground it maybe?

Is you MAF plugged it? If it is do you have the intake elbow hooked up or is the car just sucking in unmetered air? If it is sucking in unmetered air that is most likely your problem.

umm

ok...the maf is hooked up. i checked for spark at the plugs and im getting it there. so im guessing that that rules out the ignition system. right? i just dont get it. i did find out that my msd coil is bad. but even with the stock one back on it sill wont start now. all top end vacuum leaks are fixed so there arent any vacuum leaks. i re adjusted the rockers just to make sure. they are definatly close enough that it should start. i just dont get why it doesnt want to start, its alread ran once...could this be some kind of timing issue?

yes

yes. i pulled the opti apart, it was indexed right. and inside it looks great. it is throwing a crank sensor code, but that wont cause it not to start...

lswhat?

the fpr vac line is good to go. and the cranks just wont fire off. so its not the vats. i think im gonna part the car out and buy an ls1. im beginning to think its the opti. its in time and its gettin fuel. i think that the spark from the opti is off time or something...

I had a similar problem in my Dakota.. I know it's not the same but I had a crank sensor code as well.. I ignored it at first, but then decided to change the sensor and found out it was the problem all along. Hope that helps.

Of all the stuff you took off to do the cam, that's the stuff I would look at first. i wouldn't ignore the crank sensor and also the ignition system connectors and grunds.

umm

im gonna re check the grounds today...as far as i know there are two main ground points right? the one the the pass side of the block and the one that goes behind coil and the module. right? also im getting an orange spark instead of a blue, and orange isnt hot enough to ignite fuel....so like i said im gonna re check the grounds as this could cause this problem..
