heavy fuel smell in car after driving.

Ever since i bought my car 95 T/A after driving to work and locking the car up, if id come back in like 20 minutes o an hour later thered be a pretty heavy smell of fuel insid the car. Never smelled it outside only in the car. Never smelled it while driving either but i have the windows open or a/c on high whenever im in the car.

Anyone have any ideas why it would only be inside the car?? I havnt had achance to really look at anyhting but id like some good things to check that i might not think of at the time. Could this be something to do with teh charcoal box? I never really messed with one of those but for some reaosn people bring thme up alot in situations like these.

Re: heavy fuel smell in car after driving.

what would burnt trans fluid smell like, when i drive ive noticed a trans fluid smell when i run the car hard latley. Maybe a leak thats dripping down on the exust and after i park it it drips a lil but and all the fumes end up in the car somehow.

The fuel smell is kinda weird, smells like gas but not raw gas, like a dirty burnt smelling gas almost, kinda hard to describe. So can anyone describe burnt trans fluid? lol

burnt trans fluid will also be discolored (should also) red is the color you want.
if an A4, pull the trans dipstick and see what it looks like, also smell it, it just smells burnt like burnt food or cooking oil or something, hard to describe

Manifolds might be leaking.

Its not the cat, they smell "eggy" when they go bad. And i doubt leaking manifolds would make it smell bad inside the car after i park it.

Its after i park it with windows closed and come back in a lil while that its really a very powerful smell. After like a couple hours you cant smell it anymore really, its weird.
