Heater performance problems

I am having trouble with my heater. It never seems to get hot. I already resealed the heater core, so thats not the problem. I have put the stiock 180 degree thermo in too. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and knows the solution. Any help would be good.

Thanks Mike

Did you try flushing the heater core?

i also have this problem, but i havent flushed my heater core. i know there are two different ways, one with the hose on the connections on the firewall, and another where you just connect the hose to some kind of coolant line further in the front of the the engine bay... i know shoebox had a little page that he made, or atleast some pics in regard to the connection in the front of the engine bay... does anyone know where the fitting is? or should i just go ahead and do the hose on the firewall trick? which is easier?:D

I did mine with the hoses hooked to the firewall. If that fails just change it out. Unlike a lot of cars, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes to change out. Its right in back of the glove compartment. total of like 8 bolts I think. 5 mm. Core will run you about 60 bucks.

Before I bought it, my car had not seen cold weather. When I took it in and had the heater core flushed, they had to reverse the flow 5 different times before anything came out. This year it seems to be weak again, I think I'll get the whole system flushed this time. It might not be a bad idea to replace the whole thing like S.J.S. said, I had mine a part when I was first looking for the problem and it wasn't that hard.
