headers and gaskets

my felpro gaskets dont want to match up perfectly to my pacesetters.

if the bolt holes match up then the D-port holes are NOT PERFECT and if the D-port holes are matched up the bolt holes are NOT PERFECT.

however i think the gasket matches the head perfectly.........Defect??
or common???

if so will the part of the gasket thats in the way get burned off after a few hundred miles? or will it just foul out the gasket...............and i will have to replace it later..........what should i do????

Thanks, later

The felpros matched up perfectly with my Jet-Hots. I've also heard of pacesetters flanges not being straight sometimes, you might want to check that with a straight edge. Are you sure you got the right gaskets?

i dunno, does it really matter???...................i already put the left one in because i figured thats how it was suppose to be and it would burn off later.

I REALLY dont want to take it off........but should i take it off and dremel the excess gasket off or just buy something else......like a percy metal gasket and use that instead

I usually buy the Mr. Gasket ultra seals. I would remove the gasket and trim it with a razor knife, or try a different set. Who knows, maybe you got the one set in 5000 that went into the machine crooked. :)

I'll never use anything but Percy's dead soft aluminum ever again. IMHO, with the limited clearance in a f-body engine bay, I hate to do things twice. If a bolt backs out, a regular gasket burns through and you'll be taking it all apart to put in a new gasket. With Percy's, just retorque the bolt. ;) :D
