Get you some 1" stage 8 locking header bolts part# 114-8911-A

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=4&pcid=301

Then some Felpro gaskets part# 112-1406

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=4&pcid=54

I would get em all from thunder racing, you wont find a better deal on the gaskets, and dont use any threadlocker, get some high heat anti-sieze compund.

Agreed on the above post, Stage 8 locking bolts and a set of Fel-Pro 1406s will do the trick and please do stay away from the threadlocker.

IMO stage 8's suck. nothing worse than getting a bolt tight and having to back it off to get the lock to line up. i'd go w/ ARP 1" stainless

I went with the above mentioned ARP bolts, and had no problems-I rechecked them after a few heat cycles to check for loosening, however.

No leaks yet!

i used breslin locker bolts on my pacesetters and i love em. however bad news is i heard they went out of business :(

I agree, stage 8's suck. They also seem like a really soft metal. Its very easy to round the corners off and round out the center of the allen head. I removed all of mine and just replaced them with a set of Mr. Gasket brand bolts, from Autozone. Also i'd stay away from locktite, if anything put anti-seize on them.

Anytime you thread a steel bolt into an aluminum head, you want to use antisieze grease as dis-similar metals will create a galvanic reaction and cause corrosion. Threadlocker is the wrong way to go; it doesn't stand up to temperature anyway.

i used the bolts pacesetter included with the headers. there had been no problems leaking at all in 10k and all i did was put anti-sieze on the bolts

Texas_96_Z Feb 18, 2007 08:16 PM

I used the Pacesetter bolts and the copper gasket they supplied, no problems so far. I did have to tighten them up a few times however.

The best combination I have found so far is the Earls header gaskets and the Breslin locking bolts. This combination has been rock solid. No leaks :D
