Head Swap Parts List

I'm in the final stages of buying parts to swap in a set of ported heads
and intake in my 97 TA. This is the list of parts so far and I'm going with
the Crane pacalloy dual valve springs instead of keeping the beehives
that are installed on the stock heads.

Head Bolts (ARP-134-3601) >> or should I get the 12-point bolts?
Rocker Studs (ARP-135-7101)
Pushrods - Comp Chromoly 5/16" Pushrods (length TBD)
Valve Springs - Crane 96872
Locators - Comp 4771
Retainers - Comp 730
Locks - Comp 613
Shims as needed to attain 1.83" installed height
Lifters - GM (kit) 12371042
Head Gaskets - GM Impala 12553160
Intake Gaskets - GM 12524653
Guide Plates - GM 14011051
TB Gasket - GM 10105379
EGR Gasket - GM
Air Bleed Tube Gaskets and Bolts - GM

I'll also be installing a set of SLP shortys and have all the parts for this
swap which include the Percy's gaskets, Breslin bolts, GM flange gaskets,
etc.

The heads will come unassembled. I'll assemble the heads with the above
hardware and will buy an adjustable length pushrod to determine the
proper length to buy. I also have the valve stem seals. I've spent a lot of
time deciding on the valve springs so I don't really want to have a beehive
vs. dual spring discussion. In theory, the surfacing done on the heads and
intake combined with the longer valves should be about a push.

Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Everything looks good to me. The only thing I would do different is get the trickflow pushrods instead of the comps, they are the same exact pushrod just with trickflow's name on it and they are about 1/2 the price. What heads are you going with? And are you keeping the 227 cam?

Get the fel pro head set, it comes with everything you need.

You will need valve cover gaskets as well. It also has other misc. seals and gaskets you'll want. Valve seals as well.

I'm keeping the 227 cam. Thanks for the tip on the pushrods. The heads
are Ai 185cc CNC with some additional hand blending. They also did the
intake.

Thanks for the info. I've already purchased the gaskets since I can get
GM parts at the wholesale price. It's the hardware that I want to be sure
is correct. Also, I have LT4 valve covers.
