Head Porting Problem - Weld Repair?

Well, as luck would have it my DIY head porting project has hit a little snag. After finishing one head and rushing to try and finish the other, I slipped with that carbide cutter running at 20,000 RPM and broke through into a water jacket at the base of the valve guide area on an EXHAUST port. Now I know the exhaust side runs WAY to hot for any repairs involving JB weld, or any of the epoxy type head fillers, but how do you weld repair a hole in the exhaust port without blocking the water jacket passage beneath it? Is there something you can put in the water passage, have the hole welded in, and then flush out of the passage behind the weld repaired area? Also, have ANY of you weld repaired a cylinder head in the exhaust port area and then run those heads on your vehicles? I'm ASSUMING that after welding, I can just have the heads pressure tested, and if they pass pressure testing, they're "good to go"?

Any info from you guys who have experienced similar problems with DIY head porting would certainly be appreciated. TIA for ALL replies!

Just go get someone that is proficient in head repair to weld it up, and it will be like it never happened. They will weld the hole up without putting any filler into water jacket underneath it.

Are you sure it did go thru? See any light ? Some heads are porous and you'll see a black area where it went thru, but it might not have.

Most local machine shops can fix the problem and test it.
