Head Bolts

Do the lower row of head bolts thread into water jackets? If so, it looks like I have one leaking. If not, I have a head gasket leaking.

I'm using ARP head bolts and their thread sealer. Never had this problem with the stock bolts.

Yes, the lower row of bolts goes into the water jacket. In fact, all of the holes hit water. I put thread sealant on all of my studs.

Yeah, I put thread sealant on all of mine also. Guess I shouldn't have used the ARP brand sealant.

Thanks.

ARP makes a lubricant and a thread sealant. I used the thread sealant.

I torqued the top/long bolts to 70 lb/ft, and the bottom row to 65 lb/ft.

The part that sucks is I have to pull the header off to reseal that bolt, and pulling the header on my Y-Body is a PITA.
