I have a hardtop, and would say it is a matter of what you like. Some people say that over time the t-top's start to leak due to the cars having a sub-frame construction, and the high tq that the motors put out. All in all if you like the sun and don't want a convertable a T-top is a good choice. But I think you do lose some structural strenght. But as always you can get sub-frame connectors.

I ordered my hardtop from the factory. I've had 2nd,3rd & 4th gens with t-tops. I like hardtops better.

Overall the convertible is typically the least produced model.

I have black leather interior and I live in Houston, TX. I have a hardtop and wouldn't have it any other way. Not only do I highly prefer the aesthetics of a hardtop, but it makes me feel safer knowing I actually have a roof over my head. Not sure if you guys heard of te tragedy in Atlanta, but 2 men are now dead because they flew out the car via t-tops.

I guess those guys never heard of a little invention called the seatbelt! Anything you do nowadays is dangerous so may as well enjoy it the best way you can. And for me I would never own one of these cars without a stick and t-tops.

And hot, and ugly, and impractical. If you want a convertable, get a cobvertable... don't chop up your perfectly good hardtop.

All SS's from 96-02 no matter what option got 17's...and as far as the t's leaking and being noisy i believe that was a big 3rd gen problem, i know many w/ no complaints at all w/ em

T-top vs hard top is just an option, not part of a package. I have 2 hardtop Z28s that are completely loaded except for t-tops.
