Good source for lt4 hot cam and is it worth it?

Hi all, currently rebuilding 94 lt1 to swap into my jag xj6, dont want to go nuts on the build, just want a bit more torque as the jag is heavy, I'm using the stock lt1 aluminum heads with lt4 springs, and might be able to get away with some block hugger headers as clearance to steering rack is limited, if they wont work I will have to use ram horn manifolds. Not ideal I know, but choices are limited..
Sooo. Is a hot cam going to help? What's best source? I have found it on summit for 300. Same price at Chevrolet. they both state it needs dowel pushed in and has a fuel pump lobe.. am i looking at right one?
Thanks
Darren

I would suggest you contact Lloyd Elliott and get one of his cams. It may be $50 more than that Hot Cam....but be better.

The Hot Cam is more a higher RPM cam for the lighter F-body car, not a torque cam

The LT4 springs are "barely" adequate for a LT1 as the LT1 heads have solid, heavier, valves than the LT4 which had sodium filled "lighter" hollow valves. If you are using any can other than a stock LT1 cam the LT4 valve springs are just not enough

The Crane 10308 would be way better but there are other choices.
