Do you care if it takes corners well? If not, then I suggest an Eibach drag launch kit and a BMR adjustable torque arm.
Oh, and Nitto drag radials. Dial in 2 degrees negative at the track and it should hook real good.
QA1s are the best but if you are on a budget like me then KYB AGX is a nice budget alternative.

i dont want it to drive through the corners like a wet noodle but im not that worried about the handling. could i just replace the rear shocks for now and leave the worn out ones on the front?Or would it really help if i didnt change the front shocks? i know a little about motors but the suspension thing looses me. thanks for the help.

It won,t hurt anything to do the rears now and fronts later but you won,t get the full effect of the new shocks until all the new ones are on. I went full drag race on my suspension cause I got tired of people beating me while I played sit and spin.
I put in the drag launch kit and all poly bushings, the KYB AGX adjustable shocks, BMR adjustable TA, Lakewood LCAs and panhard rod, 3.73s and a TA girdle.
I still need to put my tranny back in with the new stall and see how it hooks up. I think with all that hardware my traction problems should be solved. The handling thing is the only bad part you can,t do the things you used to be able to do with the car handling wise but it should be ok for regular driving.

I cut 1.73 60 ft. times with a stock suspension. M/T 26x10.5" ET Streets, and removed front sway bar. Stock springs, shocks, control arms, and torque arm.

That is amazing, I tried everything I could think of to get my car to hook and I never did better than a 2.15 60 ft.
Maybe I just can,t drive:(
that is why I am trying to idiot proof my suspension, just put my foot down and go.

What gear/tire/stall converter are you using? Yes the motor, and suspension in mine was stock, but the rest had a little work. Check out my web page for specifics. You'll get to see a stock suspension car showing daylight under the drivers side front wheel.
