What is the best bang for the buck CAI out there. I really like the SLP but for $225 theres gotta e something like the moroso or something similar? Whats your guys' opinions?

moroso is the best bang for the buck cai....but i personally like the slp...thats why i have one....although ligenfelter is supposed to have the biggest filter...i dunno....there all the same for the most part....ull just be payin for a name and looks

I have a moroso on one car and a K&N FIPK on the other they both work very well

Trans Dapt Performance http://tdperformance.com/TransDapt.html makes a ripoff (or maybe they're the actual original manufacturer, unsure) of the Moroso intake, that runs under $150. You can find it on their website under Air Intake Systems under the "Customizing Products" or alphabetical listing of all their products (kinda hard to find, took me awhile to find it). It's part number 2450, but I don't know of if you can order straight from them or need to find a reseller. Somebody posted a company on here awhile back that had them for $125 but they don't seem to list it anymore (carshopinc.com)

Summit has a listing for it for $130 but it doesn't appear to be in stock, ship date of 7/10/06... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Anyway, you might want to do some digging and see if you can find somewhere that has that for a good price, it looks like a sweet setup for the cash, I have an actual Moroso one and love it, this one looks like a straight copy for around $50-$60 less than the already cheaply priced Moroso. That puts this one around $100 less than the SLP or K&N intakes.

I just bought that one a couple of weeks back from Summit. It seems the do their stock updating over the night, because when I was looking at one it had a ship date listed as 2-3 weeks out, but when I looked the next after noon, it had a ship date of the next day.

Personally, I think the Moroso is one of the best bang for the buck name brand intakes on the market. There are also cheaper ones on ebay.

Lingenfelter supercooler is the best bang for the buck, generally the same system as the moroso or k&N @ only 159.00 bucks

Another vote for the SLP, no pintches in the CAI around the brake lines like the other brands, just straight through dual pipes, no BS from SLP on this product.

Moroso is cheaper than the K&N FIPK while being very similar. However, IMO the K&N seems to be slightly better.

I have the Moroso on my current Z28. The last Z28 I owned had a K&N FIPK and I could hear a lot more air moving through it.

Moroso is good. I had the Lingenfelter before that and I think it's a bad design.
Things I dislike about the Lingenfelter Intake:
1) The filter slides onto the CAI tube and the whole assembly floats there. My filter rubbed on the plastic panel they give you and a hole appeared.
2) The CAI tube fits POORLY on my 1996 Z28. This might not be true for everyone but it sure fit crookedly on my car.
3) It uses the OEM rubber ends with that clamps at the MAF sensor.

The Moroso CAI has a metal flange that attaches to the chassis and the tube and filter slide on to it. The Moroso also comes with rubber hose couplings to attach to the MAF. I did however have to trim about an inch off of the MAF end of the tube for a perfect fit. I have a metal Intake elbow so that might be that reason.

Who the **** pays $200 for a peice of plastic. Ebay woot $100 + K&N cone filter. Same damn pipe.
