GM 847 cam question, and best tune for ECM
I have a 1995 camaro that i blew up and I am now in the process of building a new engine. I was looking at the GM 847 cam and getting my heads and intake ported and polished. I already have a set of 1.5 Crane gold roller rockers and a set of new OEM roller lifters. I was wondering what valve spring would be best and what size valves would be best (intake/exaust). My car is just a weekend car but I want to keep it streetable. Any sugustions would be great and if you think that another cam might work better I am open to other ideas. Also need to know where is the best place to get your computer tuned for mods.

Since your wanting to do the heads and cam anyway...why not go with a Lloyd Elliott LE-2 head and cam package.....this way you'll have everything you want all at once in a well proven planned out package.......this will also include a custom cam for exactly what your looking for .... instead of a older technology shelf cam......nothing against the GM 847 Cam, but it's just that there's more to be gained in a custom grind.......www.eportworks.com ...Joe

If you are bent on sticking with your 1.5s let whoever helps you pick the cam know. Most are rated for 1.6s.
A custom grind will be the best in the end, but the 847 is my favorite reasily available shelf cam. (Ive tried most of them)

hey as far as the LE2 heads and cam go it would work great if it was not for the price. I am getting my heads and intake ported for free, a local machinest owes me a favor, so all I have to do is buy the parts. I do not have to pay for the time or labor it would take. As for the 1.5 or 1.6 rockers I can sell mine if it would be a worth while power wise, but I really do not want to lose the $100 plus dollars that I would most likly lose when reselling.
