Getting a tune from Madwolf, Suggestions?

I am getting a unlimited email tune package from Madwolf, dont even mention the alternative cause I wont even consider them.

Basically my question is what did you get done with your tune and what do you suggest and like about it? Obviously fix the A/F ratio and such, but shift firmness, fan on/off, etc. This is what Ion offers on his site and my mods are in the sig. I just want to get the most out of my tune, thanks guys.

- Retrofits (I have done TONS of these, including boats, small aircraft, etc) - will program to accomodate your setup.
- Transmission conversions (A4 to M6, A4 to Th350, Th400, etc)
- Idle adjustment
- Different injector size/offset calibration
- Knock retard desensitizing
- Skip shift elimination (M6)
- Shift points/shift firmness/shift kit/different stall adjustments (A4)
- Rev limiter adjustment, disabling/adjustment of the speed limiter
- Ported heads/headers/exhaust/aftermarket camshaft tuning
- Fan kick on temperature adjustments
- Speedometer/Automatic transmission adjustments for different gear/tire size
- Premium gas power tuning
- Larger throttle body adjustments
- Larger/ported mass airflow sensor adjustments
- Different engine displacement adjustment
- Disabling various devices/sensors/codes/etc
- Programming for mildly supercharged applications if you have access to a monitoring tool and/or wideband o2 readings.

Any additional things to add? Pardon my ignorance I'm a first timer.

Re: Getting a tune from Madwolf, Suggestions?

Here's what I normally do on a car like yours:

If you have a stock thermostat, I adjust the fans to 200/210 (low/high speed) unless otherwise specified.

The power tune (combination of WOT air fuel ratio adjustment, WOT and higher part throttle spark adjustments and often knock retard desensitizing, 6000 rev limiter)

Shift firmness is up to you. I personally don't like any added firmness, but that is up to each person's personal preference.

You can have your speed limiter disabled if you have one and have the codes for EGR/AIR disabled if you don't have those devices anymore. Everything else, I would leave stock for now.

Well in that case I'll have to request the fans at those temps. Since I am driving the Z in the cold temps up here, the 160* is going to limit my heat production right?

Power tune, you do your thing. I just put a new opti / MSD superconductors / and Autolites this year if that helps.

Shift firmness, well if anyone has comments on what a tune shift feels let me know cause I dont know what the difference would feel like, but perhaps I could do it without, then get a new tune with the firmness and then it could be taken off again correct?

No speed limiter that I know off, hehe :thumb:

Havent been getting codes for the EGR and AIR but delete those too I guess.

I know I want the premium gas tune also cause thats all I use 93+.

Any other comments? Thanks again Madwolf

Any additional comments fella's? I wanted to buy and get my car tuned ASAP, like before Friday, but was hoping for a little bit more input before I ordered. Thanks.

What sort of gains have you seen, Ion, through tuning for 91+ octane gas?

I Submitted my unlimited email tune. Thanks again Ion, for all the help! What do I do after you send the tune? I just attach the cable to the car and send it? The transfer from email to the car is kinda vague to me. Thanks.

Re: Getting a tune from Madwolf, Suggestions?

did u add any shift firmness?
im asking cuz i highly regret doing it. i wish i would have it better explained to me that it happened throughout all throttle postions, not just WOT! anyway once i get gears i will be sending it back to him, adn will be getting rid of the shift firmness. gl with ur tune and enjoy

No added shift firmness, madolf didnt really recommend it either. I think I am having enough problems keeping the car on the road through shifts without added difficuties. I am enjoying the tune, it turned out very nice.
