Gas in my oil?
 

I just pulled my engine because of a bad rod but when i drained my oil....i had a lot of fuel mixed in with it...How does gas get into where the oil is? I just put a set of #30 injectors and an aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator on it.....maybe there a leaking down some how? Thanks for all replys!

Thats an easy one. Your press reg is bad. A ruptured diaphram allows gas to get sucked into the engine, it runs down past the rings and gets in the oil.

What bent the rod?? It's possible gas hydrolocked a cylinder and bent the rod.

Is that the only thing that it could be? I hate that it is bad because i just bought it not 2 long ago.....it was used though.....I guess i will just put the stock fpr back on it and see what happens.....I thought i had a rod go bad because of a chain reaction of other stuff....like pushrod got shaved by guide plates...which in turn fell onto the lifters which the shavings got inbetween the lifters and the plates that hold them striaght....popped the plate up and the lifter started spinning......the spinning lifter put a couple of good size dents into the cam that i just installed.....so i replaced all of it and now it is knocking down lower.....so i pulled the engine and that is where i'm at right now.....went from a cc306 (dented one) to a XE 236/242

Cracked head in cylinder chamber.....Just another possibility...Also check the valve clearance so it is not spitting excessive fuel as you said youre cam got dinged up it could have put a slight bend on the valves

If the regulator was bad you could pull the vac hose off and see it wet with fuel.

The other possibility is a stuck injector leaking fuel in the intake when it sits.

Both problems can be seen by using a pressure gage on the schrader valve of the fuel line. The gage will show pressure drop when the engine is shut down. Also both problems will also cause you to have to crank the engine longer than usual since you have to burn off the fuel that puddled in the intake.

I'll check it when i get the motor back together.....i will check the head before hand though....thanks for the input...if anyone has anything else to say....please do so because i like knowing all possibilities...
