Fusible Links, How many?

I just blew a fusible link on my car. I was wondering how many fusible links there are? And, what each fusible link is for? I know my headlights work, my fans work, my radio, and my car starts. Which fusible link did I blow? Also, it blew right after I cleaned everything under the hood with greased lightning degreaser. Is it possible this degreaser caused a short? I did spray quite a bit near the fusible links cleaning up the shock towers.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Eric

how do you know you blew a fusible link? what isn't working.

Well, I had the car started and noticed smoke coming from the area where the fusible links are. I shut down the car and checked out the area where I saw smoke. One of the fusible links had burned through the plastic sleeve. If I understand correctly, this is what happens when you have blown a fusible link. As for whats not working, I dont know. Everything that was working before is still working now. The car starts, fans turn on, radio works, headlights turn on. The other I havent checked out are the ABS and Air conditioning. The reason I havent checked these, is because I deleted them. They are no longer on the car.

I went by Napa to purchase a new fusible link, but was told to replace the fusible link wire with an actual fuse?!?!? I guess its the same, but I prefer to replace the fusible link with a the type that originally went there, though.

Also, when I go to replace the fusible link, I noticed there are two fusible links to one wire loop. Do I have to replace both fusible links or can I just replace the one that burned out?

Thanks,

Eric :)

Shoebox has the wiring diagrams for a 95 on his website. They show the fusible links.
