Fuel pump out?
 

It is a walbro255 and I put it in maybe 10 miles ago. Anyway, the car died on me and will fire up but just dies. The fuel pump kicks on and primes. I checked the fuel pressure and when I turn the key on, it builds to 5-10 psi and just falls back down to zero. Is this the fuel pump or something else? I don't understand why the pressure bleeds off after it builds. I appreciate any replies.

change the fuel filter? i had the pos and neg wires hooked up wrong the first time i installed my pump and it seemed like it had the same symptoms.

I have a new fuel filter here, but I haven't changed it yet. The neg wire is the one that is real short and is grounded with another wire, right? It worked fine for a little bit, but it just quit running. I didn't think the fuel filter would cause the pressure to drop back off. Isn't the pressure supposed to build and stay?
