Fuel pump "bucket" not sealed, Problem?
I put in a new pump and when i pulled out the old one i had to break the seal that holds the top on. I didnt reseal it because i figured it didnt matter. Now i am think that maybe if the gas is below the top of the bucket then it pump might lose PSI from sucking in air from the top of the bucket.
If i do have to seal it, what do i use??? |
you will probally get answers that go both ways. miy bucket is in the trash but i am running 2 intank pumps 1 for na 2nd comes on with nitrous kit. in my eyes you will be fine.

The top of the bucket was sealed to keep it full of fuel to help pump cooling. It will have no effect on fuel pressure. I would not worry unless you repeatedly run the tank near empty.
