Wow!!!!!guys long story short,I've never gambled in my life,my wife and I were at a casino buffet, after eating I asked her I'll try this machine required one dollar,i put the dollar in and says I won 1500 dollars,i started going crazy.

I got the money but I want to use part of it to put more things to my camaro,n I like these injectors and wondering if they will be ok

Re: fuel injectors

Stock injectors in 94-97 LT1’s are 24 #/HR. They are programmed in the PCM as 24.9 #/HR. Only the 1993 LT1 had 22 #/HR injectors.

Does your engine currently show any signs of running lean at WOT/high RPM? That would be the only reason to go to larger injectors. On the other hand, a decent heads and cam build should be well over 400 HP at the flywheel, and should require something larger than stock injectors.

Something doesn’t make sense.

Re: fuel injectors

Why not buy injectors correctly sized for the HP your modified engine makes? Do you have any evidence of running lean with your current setup? Do you have any problems that you feel are due to your current injectors?

I couldn’t use the link, but a search using the description turned up what appeared to be the listing. 8 "Granitic" brand (never heard of them) injectors for $84.99 ????? Gotta be super cheap Chinese rip-off crap. Look at the prices for "real" fuel injectors:

Racetronix - Fuel Injectors - High Impedance

Re: fuel injectors

OP

unless you have data log to see what your duty cycle is at "sustained" WOT that shows you max out at 100% or you have some evidence your existing injectors are not functioning correctly...don't buy new ones. Any other # or brand other than stock you will need the PCM tuned for them

if you are intent on buying new, bigger injectors don't cheap out. Get quality injectors

you can send your injectors out for service/cleaning for around $12 per injector. I have used Cruzin Performance a few times. They send a B/A chart of injector function

Re: fuel injectors

The size is determined by the engine's flywheel HP. Multiply flywheel HP by 0.07 to get minimum injector size. Example 400 flywheel HP x 0.07 = 28 #/HR. For a stock PCM you need high impedance injectors (12-16 ohms). The PCM needs to be programmed with the new flow rate and the "offsets". The stock LT1 fuel system operates at 43.5 PSI (3 bar). LS1 injectors sounds like they are bigger, but the LS1 fuel system operates at 58 PSI (4 bar). A 28 #/HR LS1 injector will only flow 24 #/HR in an LT1.

Brands that are high quality - Delphi, Rochester, Bosch, Siemens, Lucas, FAST, Racetronix.

A lot of people used to run Ford SVO and FMS injectors. They are inexpensive, and most people were satisfied, but I ran the Denso (Bosch licensee) FMS and did not like the way they fit. There is a lot of discussion on Bosch Design III injectors on other forums. Most of the feedback is positive. I have no first-hand experience with them. I run an older style Bosch injector, but they are low impedance, 64 #/HR @ 43.5 PSI. But my fuel system operates at 58 PSI, so the injectors flow 74 #/HR.

Injector sizing gets complex though. The two factors that affect the size are the engine's brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) and how high the injector's duty cycle (DC) can go, before the injector flow becomes erratic. My 0.07 factor makes reasonable assumptions for both of these. It does not hurt to go a bit higher than calculated on the injector size, as long as you don’t get ridiculous. For example, if you calculate you need a 28 #/HR injector, it’s OK to run a 32 #/HR injector. Gives you headroom for future mod's, and for that day at the track when density altitude drops below sea level, and the engine makes more HP than measured on the dyno at "standard" or SAE corrections.

Avoid: Accel, MOSTPLUS (Chinese rip-offs), Trick Flow.

Re: fuel injectors

Spray pattern is another thing to consider. I was going to get some new Ford Motorsports 39lb injectors, but the V spray pattern may not work for a 2 valve engine.

I lean towards liking Ford Motorsports injectors because they supply the characterization data for the injectors. However....most(if not all) of their motors are 4 valve....so spray patterns for a 2 valve engine may be a problem.

This is supposed to be the spray pattern of the 39lb Cobra injectors I was looking at....however, he didn't mention a part number.
