Fried Wire?

Couple of questions w/ headers. 1) how bad are paper gaskets? 2) Did I fry a wire, because it just doesn't seem like I got all that power everyone talks about and at 55mph the car shakes really badly. I dunno help a brother out. I shoulda just friggin done gears.

well just if someone was wondering. paper gaskets are bad. but i already knew that.

and i think the power thing is all low end loss due to lack of back pressure.

I doubt very seriously with the exhaust your running you've lost backpressure. I gained a solid 22+ rwhp with my Jethots, ypipe, no cats, and open Borla. Now when I pop the caps on the dual 3" cutouts on the ypipe I lose a little too much backpressure. But knowing I had plans for a stroker, heads, etc short term I didn't want to backtrack on doing more exhaust work later. It's fun driving around town with the caps off and I play with some cars but no serious racing, it's a solid two to three tenths ET loss on an 1/8th mile and I imagine more in the 1/4 mile running that way.

As for the stumbling problem check your wiring for sure because more than likely you burnt a wire on a primary, routing is crucial when you do longtubes. Also be sure and check your 02 sensors, for 70 bucks replace them both, it made mine run like a new car again. They are supposedly good for 10k miles some go 5 times that and others less, just depends on your car and how it runs, etc.
