Flame Throwing SS
My 97 SS has a SLP dual dual exhaust system and its catalytic convertors are removed. During acceleretion between upshifts it is throwing flames through the exhaust pipes, what could be the reason for this?

Re: Flame Throwing SS
My car does this too. Removing the CAT causes the unburnt gas to ignite. I have the Loudmouth, and since it has a straight through cylinder type "muffler" nothing gets in the way of flames coming out. At high RPMs when you shift it pops really loud and 2 balls of fire the size of almost basketballs come out. I have been stopped a few times and people told me how cool it was and a guy in a truck kept saying to do it again.
You are running a little rich but if you don't want to have that effect, then yes tune it to run leaner. I like mine just the way it is though!! :D |
