Few Problems After Long Tubes
 

How many of you after your installing your long tubes have had alot of vibrations my car has alot of them . I think all the ratling is coming from the heat shield from the passanger side. Also have anyone noticed that the header on the driver side is like a inch away from the fuel lines. One more thing i disconnected the egr pipe from the right side of the head but left the egr in and where the hose goes to the manifold i left them connected will this effect anything or should i delete them and if so how.

No can share any input?

If you take the EGR and tube off you need some block off plates.

Did you check to see if its hitting the heat sheild?

What condition are the motor mounts in?

What kind of vibrations? Like a rattling or drivetrain shaking? Which LTs did you go with? Mine cleared the fuel lines pretty good, but if you want some added insurance you can wrap them in some heat wrap, or wrap the headers. Check your header bolts too, make sure they're not backing out on you.

Confusing.... the EGR pipe does not connect to the head.

did you use the stock rubber body mount for the y-pipe? Check your motor mounts. The only problem I had after LTs was blowing fan fuses because I had the heater element wires for the o2's crossed on one of them. ps, jsut FYI Alot of things are connected to that circut

You mean the y-pipe hanger on the tranny?

NO i didnt use the hanger i have no hanger cause it was way off from the pacesetter ofr y pipe and would not even come close. I am running non emission headers and still have the egr connected. I am getting a bad shake from the motor after it has warmed up do you think its from not deleting the egr. One other thing once i delete the egr itself what do i do with the hose to the intake do i cap it or what. thanks

Still not clear what you connected, and what you didn't connect, with regard to the EGR. Did you simply leave the flex-pipe connected to the intake manifold without plugging the open end that used to connect to the exhaust manifold? If so, when the PCM decides to operate the EGR valve (typically at constant "cruise" load, under 3500rpm) you have a large vacuum leak.

You have to cap the hole for the EGR if you remove the valve. There are blanking plates available from out fits like SJMManufacturing. You remove the flex-pipe from the back of the manifold, and can cap the hole on the back of the intake.... that part is also available as a blanking plate. It would only "leak" if you didn't get a good seal on the EGR valve blanking plate. I installed both.

I did cap the flexing hose bu left the egr in from the pictures on shoebox website i see what you are talking about .Now i left the egr in i take that out and cap the little hose that goes to the egr correct.
