MSD or stock coil
I haven't been on the forums in a while. Life gets in the way.
I had a problem with a bad coil this week. Problem has been resolved but after reading on here about how crappy the MSD opti is, I'm wondering if I made a bad choice putting there coil on my car? I would like to get some feedback from the guys that have some experience with them.
Car is bone stock except muffler and K&N filter.

Re: MSD or stock coil
For a 94, an MSD will deliver more spark power than a stock coil. I had one that failed within a year, but the warranty replacement was just fine and still going 15 years later.

Check into the hypertech 53k volt coil, a bit more pricey but I have one on mine, haven't fully installed it yet when I do ill let you know about the performance upgrade it made.....ANY coil will not go behond 40k volts without an ignition box....so I recommend one of those to, the 6al is a good one.

Re: MSD or stock coil
I really wasn't looking for a performance upgrade. I used the MSD coil because it was free. I,m more concerned about the dependability. This car is just a daily driver.

From Shoebox's #2 Post, he indicates you should be good to go unless you just happen to get a bad one like his first one. They don't have the bad reputation like the Opti's do. Looks like you should be good to go.
