I am pretty sure the stock fans are fine for a stock car or a Semi stock car but on a Blown car with mods they do OK (not that great in 90+degree heat and in traffic). I wanted to know the difference between the stock fans and the 'better' aftermarket ones too. I am pretty sure Highlander is running a blower also.
My car is fine when driving in 90 degree heat on the highway but in traffic on a 90 degree day, its a different ball game. That shows me that the air that moves thru the Radiator at 80MPH on the Highway can cool everything off well but the stock fans cant keep it as cools in traffic (in the summer) as I would like.

TTT.

Thx,
Claude

Exactly.. Here in PR the road can heat itself quite a lot and when you are on traffic, which is always, the A/C MUST be on or else... if not... sweating like a pig will you be...

Anyways... I need better fans.. The car heats up with the A/C on.. Usually with the A/C off it wouldn't get past the 1/4 mark or 185F on the heads and 195 on the ECT, 100F day easy 12pm. At night the Temp wouldn't be any higher than 190 on the ECT with the A/C off...

Now its heating up a bit and its also affecting my IAT temps as it heats up everything under the hood... I think I have a problem with fans not spinning high speed, but I do tell you this... If the better aftermarket fans do flow 60% better.. that must account to a 20-30% better cooling in traffic???

Just a suggestion, have you considered like a Griffin or BeCool radiator dude? Mine should be here any day from Summit (Griffin pn# GRI-1-25242-X), $198 bucks dual 1" core universal 27.5 x 19 3" tanks. Mild bracket modifications to mount. My friend is running this in his stroker and in stopngo traffic 100 degree Houston weather it never gets above 170 degrees with the stock fans. Griffin & BeCool both make direct fit replacements but both run about $450-500 bucks. The universal will work fine with my AC condensor, etc etc. For the price of fans this may suit you long term as you buildup your car.

Yes I have another thread which you have replied about it...

I am considering it... Now that I have no gas on the A/C I can remove the condenser and flush it and remove a few things to help or aid...

Let me know how it goes and I might go that route.. I just want to know if it has the tabs for the condenser and how are you going to mount the fans...

LOL...doh...I have been up at work two days straight no sleep. Well apologies for the repost. As for the condensor I'm using zip-ties just a tad smaller than what cops use for arresting groups of street racers...lol (bad Houston joke) and on the fans you have to just flip them if for clearing the waterpump if your a ramair setup like a Formula, etc. Might not have to flip mine, just can't tell till the rad gets here.

In the summer heat and in traffic it can get around 205+ or so and with the AC on it gets a lil worse but on the Highway it really does not matter if the ac is on or not, it stays around 185 or so on a HOT day. so I am sure that the fans are not up to the task.

thx,
Claude
