why dont you like the looks from the back? is it cause they exit only on one side? or is it cause youve just got the regular (skinny /ugly) tips with the 2otl? if it helps any, the guy who had my car before me, installed the 2otl, but added two nice polished tailpipes (maybe 2.5 inch dia each), and it looks nice i still have it and like it, but like you said , yours is a formula. theyre about 2-3 feet long each, they look good. myabe this wasnt what you were looking for, but anyway. good luck

B&B

If money is no object, I would recommend the B&B Triflow for the T/As and Firebirds. The oval tips just look awesome in those bumper openings. The sound is all it's own, as well. Very cool system. If I didn't run across such a good deal on my Borla, this is the way I would have gone.

It sounds like the Hooker cat-back is exactly what you want. Nice deep sound, only loud at WOT, and has dual-outlet tips.

But honestly, I think you already have the best sounding system available on your car. To this day, I have yet to hear a better sounding cat-back than the SLP 2OTL on an LT1. Its too bad you don't like the looks on your Formula although someone hear locally has this system on his T/A and I think it looks fine.

Actually, I really liked the way it looked when I first put it on, very clean look (on an already understated white Formula).

As far as sound goes, the 2OTL sounds awesome... that is until about 4500 rpm at wot; the muffler then starts to whistle! I posted about that when I first put it on, and it seemed that this was a somewhat common thing.

I guess I can live with it, the car needs a set of Bilsteins and victoracers soon...

Thanks again guys, continued input appreciated!!

personally I had a Dynomax ultra flow crossflow on my 96 T/A with the stock I-pipe and stock tips...it sounded awesome! My favorite sound out of it was leaving it in first gear (A4) through the neighborhood and letting it compression brake down from about 3000RPM with the windows open...the sound bouncing off the buildings and curbs was by far the most awesome sound I have heard an F-body make. It sounds different in the car than out of the car FYI. I have a video of mine that I can try to post up somewhere...

mine has never whistled. maybe you have that "silencer" cone-type thing in it thats causing the whistling?

Unless you bought it off someone who had a '97 SS, then the cone is not on there. If you bought it from SLP or some other company, they do not include the cone...

Get the hooker. cheap, sounds great, and i think it looks alot better than the stock tips when you get it set up right
