Exhausted issue
I'm looking for opinions on a cat back. I currently run a 2OTL, but I'm not crazy about the looks from the rear of the car- If it were a camaro there would be no issue.
I had an Edelbrock, and it was too loud, too hallow sounding.
I'm looking for something that sounds somewhere between the stock system (wish I never changed!) and the 2otl. I like the crackle sound for some reason.
I had a dynomax super turbo on my 3rd gen and it sounded just right. There doesn't seem to be too many people running them on the LT1 cars though, maybe because it isn't really marketed like the others.
Also, is it true that they offer a cat back with both the super turbo muffler and the ultra flo?? Just another wrench to toss into the situation.
Thanks guys.

Well if you like the crackle/raspy sound you might try borla or loudmouth, they are duel exit/ duel tips so they would fillout ur rear end. But ive heard these systems are quite loud so if ur looking for something a little quieter, closer to stock, maybe ud like corsa. its extremely quiet untill you go WOT. Ive been running open borla since i got the car and have loved it ever since. Its just a matter of what sound u like cuz they all give about the same gains. Nice car..

the Super Turbo get's a bit loud when the car is at full gas
I really don't know how it flows compared to the other exhaust systems
When your talking crossflows they all flow about the same, except for the glasspack SLP's and Ultraflo's they flow a little better.
I ran a Super Turbo on my 94 Trans Am and really liked it but it only lasted a little over a year before the insides went to he!!.

I'm pretty happy with the hooker cat-back system. And it was only 275 bucks shipped, which made me a lot happier.
Sounds good, looks good, and cheap, what more could you ask for? Be wary if you live in a state with lots of snow/ice/salt though (yeah, I know I live in Illinois so I shouldn't talk, but again, 275 was just such a nice price).

It sounds like the Hooker cat-back is exactly what you want. Nice deep sound, only loud at WOT, and has dual-outlet tips.
But honestly, I think you already have the best sounding system available on your car. To this day, I have yet to hear a better sounding cat-back than the SLP 2OTL on an LT1. Its too bad you don't like the looks on your Formula although someone hear locally has this system on his T/A and I think it looks fine.
