Exhaust question

Might be the wrong place to post this, but here it goes. Has anyone done a true duel exhaust without using a x-pipe or h-pipe? I am buying a 97 Z with full length headers and would like to try to run duels without a h or x pipe. Just wondering if it can be done. If someone has pics, please post them. Thanks

Re: Exhaust question

Ease of installation for one thing. Who make a good x-pipe? Any websites to look at them and get prices?

Re: Exhaust question

Ease of installation does NOT outweigh it being done properly the first time.

I was commenting on your "easier installation" comment, obviously. Again, if you're not willing to do the installation because you find it "hard" then don't do it at all. What size x pipe are you looking at?

Dude, I've built a low 9 second car from ground up. I've helpled work in the pits on 7 second NMRA SSO cars. Doing stuff thats "hard" is not a problem for me. I was thinking if there was no huge power gains (this is a street car, not a race car that im working on), then I figured it would just be easier and cheaper to do it without a x-pipe. I do like the look of the x-pipe though, so thats why I am asking. It has a 3 inch flowmaster catback on it now, so I assume the headers have 3 inch collecters on them. I find them all day long for LS1's, but none for LT1's. Would a LS1 x-pipe work with some modifyingm, or does someone make them for LT1 headers.

Re: Exhaust question

You could just get an X-Junction and then get the rest custom made. That would be my choice. The junctions are anywhere from 30 to 90 bucks. Try Summit and Spintech. I'm not sure if they're sponsors so I don't want to give out the links.
