Evaporator Core Leak

Just a quick simple question, as long as i have my compressor unplugged at the fuse box, would it be ok to drive my 95 z28 with a leak in the evaporator core? Thanks for the help.

As long as the compressor does not run, it won't matter if you drive it or not.

2 more questions

Thanks for your response, got 2 more questions for ya. If there is a leak in the evap core is there a way to plug it? or is there no way to fix it besides replacing it?

One more question with the compressor, it should have a low pressure shut off valve so if the freon drops low it doesnt burn up correct? Mine hasnt stopped running since i bought the car. The only way to get it to shut off is to unplug it. Could this be a relay problem or fuse problem?

Thanks Again,

Jason

The core would have to be removed for repair, so it would be your call on whether to have it repaired or just replaced. Consider that it might spring another leak somewhere.

Could be that the pressure is not low enough or one of the switches is not working. Disabling it is a good precaution.
