Engine revs on its own!!

I just installed a ported 52mm powder coated throttle body and intake manifold on my car(I didn't, my mechanic did) and as long as I don't touch the accelerator it idles fine. As soon as I hit the gas though, the RPM's start climbing on their own. I noticed that the coolant line in front points straight forward instead of angled to the left like my original. Could this be a TB for a third gen? Would that make a difference? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Check the throttle linkage to see if it is getting stuck on anything.

It doesn't appear to be sticking. When I push the gas pedal it goes right back to position

The pedal goes back to position or the throttle linkage? Even if the linkage gets stuck at WOT the pedal would go back to the normal position.

It happened to my car the first time I sprayed it... went WOT on kit let off the gas a couple seconds later and the car kept going. Flipped the activation switch to shut the kit down and turned the key off to stop the car... got out popped the hood and the the mechanism that operates the butterflys on the TB (which is what I am refering to when I say linkage, sorry, not the cable) was stuck to my WOT switch.

Well, at the moment I am at a loss then, unless of course maybe there is a small leak somewhere along the way of the intake system before the TB and after the MAF. It may be possible that when you press the gas it sucks whatever small opening there may or may not be open enough to let in enough un-metered air the the car could be trying to adjust it's self for it. Dunno, just an idea. Check your intake elbow and silencer (if you still have one) for any leaks.

Do you have traction control? My car just went full throttle by itself one day.

No, no traction control. I was wondering if it could have anything to do with the tps or the iac?
