does or has anyone else had this problem? When i start my car no matter what the temp. is outside my engine light comes on and my electric cooling fan is running it could be -5 outside and this still happens. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Do you mean the service engine soon light? Anytime thats on the fans come on, check for any codes, could even be the air pump fuse.

 

Yeah what he said. If it stays on you could have a blown fuse or a condition that needs your attention. Scanning for codes is the first step to solving your problem. And I'm real glad it doesn't get -5 degrees here.
