engine dilemma

well my optispark in my stock 127k+ mile engine is definitely on its way out, and shes spitting/using oil entirely too much (quart every 250 miles.)
I have my 383 sitting in the garage and I started assembling it. I have just about all the pieces, minus larger injectors and a 58mm throttle body. Everything else is ready to be put together. I don't have the money to buy injectors and a throttle body, would it be alright to run the stock injectors and throttle body on the 383 until I can save some cash to buy some new ones? They're relatively easy to replace, correct?

Its either this or take the vented opti off the 383 and stick it on the stock engine and take off the intake to fix the oil leak on the back (although I believe this is not the only leak.) If I'm gonna go through all the work to tear this all apart I might as well just go all the way and do the swap.

I also have to take into account that I won't have tuning done to the engine, I won't have a higher stall torque converter in there either. It'll be a pain to drive but it already doesn't want to idle... what would the difference be...

What shall I do!?

Re: engine dilemma

Your 383 will need custom programming to run correctly; that's going to be a minimum of $350, and really should be dyno'd tuned to do it right. So if money is tight, you might need to limp along with your present stock motor for a while longer.
