emergency brake cables

emergency brake cables

Just completed a rear swap....having a helluva time
hooking up the e brake cables. If I connect one side I
don't have enough slack to connect the other.
Any tricks/tips/advice?

stick a screwdriver through the hole on the cable and stick the tip of the screwdriver on the ebrake arm. pry against the ebrake arm and the cable will seat itself.

I pulled the cable out and clamped down on it with vice grips to hold it in the taut position
