Question ? electronics being weird

well recently i have seen some pretty weird things... first my speedo started bouncing inconsistantly, but 3 of the needles would do this electricity would go down and rpm's and speed would both go up.

ok next occationally i'll get a weird blinker that blinks "hyper" everyonce in a while but it doesnt do it consitantly like 5 quick blinks 4 reg blinks 7 quick blinks and so on, all the lights work.

yesterday i was driving thro a windy road, and my headlights just went out... i was like WTF!, so i flipped on my foggers, turned the running lights off and flipped it all back on and it all worked again (i dont want this to happen again )

today i had the same bouncy needle thing...

my battery will usually stay at about 12-13 right before the 13 mark on the dash.but today i turned my a/c on and then my power just went down and down (to about 8 or 9volts) ... so i was like fine i'll stay hot and the power slowly recovered, but was doing this bouncy needle thing while it was recovering.

generally my power gauge is fine at idle but as soon as i add something to it (extra gas, a/c, blinker, etc...) it will start to take a dip... somethings more than others, and sometimes more than others...

Sounds like a short or a bad connection/ground somewhere around the alternator.

well connection wise, my positive terminal on my battery, i think something is missthreaded everyonce in a while the car wont start and if i take that off and put it back on it'll fire right up...

the battery is about 2 months old, so maybe that wire is bad... where can i get a replacement?

If there is no problem with the threads in the battery, you can buy a replacement terminal bolt at the auto parts store. You can even use a regular 3/8 bolt and some washers for a temporary solution.

The terminal in the battery is lead and will strip out if too much torque is applied to the bolt. That is why they only have 5/16 heads on them. However, they must be clean and tight for it to get good contact.

so u think maybe i stripped it? is that covered in the battery's warrenty? (interstate battery 75 months)

i didnt realize it was easy to strip i usually do everything ratchet tight if i can, and on that one it never got tight.

If the battery is stripped, it might be tough to convince someone to warranty it. Dunno.

not trying to cheat any company but if they designed it poorly enough to be damaged there, wouldnt it stop holding a charge very quickly? then need to be replaced for other reasons besides the stripped bolt
