electric water pump????

Is anyone running an electric water pump? I will be down in that area anyways when I do my cam swap and everything so i was looking into a water pump. My car only has 40k so i really dont need one...i was jsut curious about the electric one. Does it help you any. Do they last...i have heard that these die quickly. also...what belt size would I need if I went to that set-up. Thanks.

Belt size doesn't change with an electric water pump on an LT1[it's driven off the cam thru the timing cover]
You get a Meziere or CSI pump for LT1, then bash out the impeller and bearing/seal in the stock housing, take the front plate off it, then bolt the electric pump to the housing..
Use a relay in the power source..

It will free up minimal hp. I'm using a CSI EWP, and it's working fine.

Painless has the wiring you want for like 30 bucks that has everything inline so you do not fry your pump or anything else.

Dyno proven 10whp with the electric waterpump plus your car will run cooler.

No modification of the housing is needed with the Meziere. It is with the CSI.
