Eibach Spring Q
Eibach Spring Q
I apologize if this has been answered before.
I am needing to replace my tired springs and I am considering the Eibach springs. My Q is..... Do the sportline springs offer better handling over the standard Pro-Line springs or is the intent just to lower your car for looks? Are there any other springs that I should consider. Also. how much drop can I do before I will start to have alignment woes?
Thank You for any suggestions you guys can offer

i don't have experience with the sportlines, but i do have the pro kit. Yes wit hthe sportline you would have a lower center of gravity, but i think that you will be left with no suspension travel. On a perfect surface they would handle better, but in the real world i'd think you'd be better off witth the pro kit. I rub enough places already. I like the profile now and think any lower would just look ghetto. I consider control arm relocation brackets a must even with the pro kit. you should clear the rear fenders, but if yo uget a adj panhard rod to center the axle then you will also need jounce bump spacers from slp to keep your passenger side wheel off the fender. There are lots of pics on my site if you wanna see the prokit drop.
good luck.
good luck.

With the ProKit you shouldn't have any alignment troubles although you should have it re-aligned after the drop anyway. I installed my springs, take-off shocks from SLP, relocation brackets, and an adjustable panhard bar at the same time and would recommend the same to anyone else considering lowering the car.
You could also look into BMR's lowering springs, Intrax, and there are a couple others...try the search feature at the top of your screen...comes in handy!

what size tires do you run? I have 275/40s comp ta's which are a lil wider than my nitto 275s on enkei 9.5s. I talked to some other people with 17x9 ws6's with the same problem. Mine would just shave a string of rubber off the tire when it bottomed out on the highway which only happens when doing about 80 on a wavy highway like a bridge overpass. didn't ruin the tire immediately, but it would have. I had it lowered and with the stock panhard rod it was ok, only with the shorter radius of the adj one did it rub.
