Question EGR please help !!

This weekend I was wanting to remove my intake manifold from the car. I don't plan on dropping the engine out or anything like that I would basically just like to get the intake off. Is there anyway to remove the EGR with the engine being in the car, or at least an easy way? It's so far back there I don't see how you could find it to get a wrench on it. Please let me know!!

well doesn't it have the egr exhaust that runs down to somewhere? I'm not sure what i could all unhook. Did you run into anything else that gave you troubles when removing the intake with the engine in?

If yours is the same as mine, all you gotta take off the back is the vacuum line to the EGR and the flexible tube going to the pass. side manifold. Just remove the 2 nuts from the studs. I think 10mm or 13mm's ?

I was also worried about the gas lines when i remove them. It said something about a special fuel tool to remove it from the fuel creseant or what not. I have no idea what kind of tool that could be. How do i could about getting the fuel lines off of the intake? Any suggestions would be great thanks

once you slip it over the line and under the metal connection how do you go about remove the line? does it pull straight out or twist out?

Press in on the fuel line connector, push the tool up inside it. Pull the fuel line connector straight back and off. You may have to wiggle/twist it just a little. There are some small metal clips inside the connector that lock it onto the fuel pipe. The purpose of the tool is to depress those clips, so the connector can come off. Be patient, as they can be onery sometimes. Don't wiggle too hard or you might break a clip (you can't buy them).

Oh yeah, the EGR nuts are 1/2" wrench size.

i thought i was going to have to replace my egr valve but it ended up being my mass airflow sensor...but i had bought like a 2$ mirror from wal-mart (prob like a 6"x4") and used stickey magnets to hold it up against the firewall by doing this you can look at the mirror and see the two bolts holding the egr valve on shouldent be too hard as long as you can get a socket wrench back there...the gasket might be some work but that mirror against the firewall will make the job 100% easier...

do I have to remove the EGR valve from the intake or can i just leave it connected when I pull the whole intake out? I was thinking that if I just disconnected the egr exhaust pipe that I could leave the egr connected until I got the intake out of the car.

crap...i thought you were just getting rid of the egr...imat college and my car is at home but guessing...as long as there are no connections to the egr from other parts of the engine rip it out with the intake...
