Done with install... motor problems. PLEASE HELP!!!

Aight, after working on the car all weekend we got the motor back together and back in the car. Started the car up and it ran like stinky poo-poo. I think the timing might be off. The car will start with the throttle mashed to the floor with some flames coming out of the throttle body. But wont idle.

Also, for some reason the very first rocker arm on the drivers side (#1 exhaust) is not getting lubed. We ran the car at about 1500 rpm with it running like crap for a few minutes and there was no oil on the rocker arm. We tried to prime the system before we got the motor back in, but I guess it didnt work. I got the high volume oil pump from o'reilly auto parts. Did not pull off the pass. side to see what was the deal with that.

Anyone have any ideas?

BTW- the motor is a 355 with comp cams XE 224/230 .112lsa and springs.

If you got the pin for the cam in the right slot in the opti then there's no way the timing can be off. Id check out other things like the wires (make sure they're on in the right order), possible collapsed lifters (from overtightening your rockers), and make sure no coolant got into the opti. These are just some other things that I have seen happen in that situation.

Cool

Dumb question but is the ECM reprogramed for the new cam? Is the cam timming right? As mentioned if the Optispark pin is not perfect you could have all sorts of problems.

Might have a bad lifter.

I had the computer programmed by PCM FOR LESS. I gave him the specs for the cam and motor. I am going to have to check everything. This will be the 4th or 5th time I have dropped the motor out of the car.

Verify that you have spark and fuel that should help you narrow down the problem or is the problem.
