does water pump come with?

i'm having a shop put a new water pump in cause during dyno time they said the water pump blew out. i forgot to tell them to make sure to reinstall the 160stat into the new water pump. now does a new water pump come with a thermostat? if not then i don't need to remind him bout the 160 stat.

A new GM pump comes with a 180° thermostat installed. I'd call the shop about saving the 160, but if they put in a remanufactured pump, they probably already traded yours in for the core.

they didn't take the waterpump out yet so i told them. shoebox- off subject question,i swear since i replaced the heater core in my 95 grandam that my blower blows stronger out of the vents. air only goes through the heater core when you use heat or defrost-correct?

It really depends on how the ducting is arranged. Air might go through the heater core all the time and just have the coolant shut off by a heater control valve on one of the heater hoses (4th gens don't have this and bypass the heater core on cold temp setting).
It could be that your old core was dirty and was slightly blocking the air or your new core is just more free-flowing.
