Does size "really" matter?

OK, Almost got the money together to FINALLY buy the Cat Back that I want (going with Hooker instead of what my sign says) and am wondering if there is a definite benefit in going with 3 inch pipes instead of 2.5 inch?

Is there a big difference in flow and sound? If so, I'll spend the extra $$ to get the 3" otherwise I'll stick with 2.5" and save some dough! OH, by the way, in what all I've read/heard, Hooker basically has no RASP (which I hate), will 3" pipes increase raspiness in any way?

THANKS!

Definately go with the 3" system. A single 2.5" will work but won't leave you with room (flow) to support other mods. Also if you decide to go with the 2.5" system you might as well keep the stock exhaust and just replace to muffler for the sound IMO.

Go with the 3".

Yes, the Hooker has no rasp, at least not on my car and I don't even have a cat.

What do you mean by 2.5"? Are you talking about the intermediate pipe? If so, the stock I-pipe is already 2.75", so no need to go backwards in size my friend. ;) As the others have said, definitely get the full 3" Hooker cat-back system as you'll love the tone and will pick up a little horsepower/torque over stock. Once the modifications begin to increase, so will the benefits of the Hooker! :D Your cat-back that is... :p

Good luck & good choice on that system,

Mike
