Do we need all the alternator brackets?? REALLY

Are the top bracket to header and top bracket to intake really necessary? It looks like the ac bracket would be enough but I dont know hence the thread. I want to get rid of the one on the header just so I can use my grade 8 bolt there. Anyone do this? Any probs?

I would keep one, you might end up breaking the aluminum braket with no rear support on the alternator

Yea I ditched the header one too ... Actually ... There was NO WAY to make it still fit cause it hit the header flanged, so it wouldnt line up rite. I was NOT about to bend it and put it on when theres literally 4 OTHER ones ... If your jsut tossing one bracket go for it.

Re: Do we need all the alternator brackets?? REALLY

my new alternator is screwed up and the 2 holes for the back brackets were never drilled out. I am currently just using the 2 front main ones, with the black one by the intake and the black one by the headers not being used at all. Is this a bad thing??? I would like to use em but like I said the back of the alternator was messed up I guess.

I'm only using the two on the accessory bracket.

I have been running without the bottom one for 6 years without a problem. But I 'd keep the top one to the intake.

Ya keep the intake one. I ditched both of them, and about a year later i broke the top off the accessory bracket off. Ouch. No problems since i put the intake one back on
