Do i need this black tray looking thing that extends from underneath my y pipe and I pipe? I put a band clamp on the y pipe and i pipe extension piece, and a pipe clamp on the i pipe to the extension, and it does not fit on there. Will this cause the pipes to move too much?

It just supports it incase of it coming loose. You can remove it but if the exhaust comes loose you will be dragging it.
