do i have to remove waterpump to put on rotor and cap and new spark plug wires on 1996 lt1 .

Yes the water pump has to come off[ and the balancer, but NOT the HUB] to change the opti[distributor] or the 'cap and rotor' ... but not to change the plug wires..
