Do I have enough spring for my cam?

XE224/230 with CC987 springs. 987s used to be the ticket a few years ago but now it seems anything but a XXX918 spring is junk. Should I be going with the 918 now after 2+ years running them? Cam lift specs out to .532"/.544".

Also.. how he hell does a guy get off a dual spring with the inner dampener(or whatever it is) under the cowl? I could never get the clamp style compressor to grab that inner spring and of course the bar doesnt work back there either.
