different timing chain req. for elec. WP?

I know that you'd need an elec. WP if you went with a Cloyes double roller or something comparable, but can you run an elec. WP on a stock timing chain?

Of course you can. You can either leave the old WP gear in there or take it out and plug it with a freeze plug.

plus i found this, explaining the install of a mezeire EWP.

http://www.projecttransam.com/projects9.asp

will the CSI be similar aside from having to work the housing over in order for it to fit?

The difference is that for the CSI you have to grind out 4 "humps" to the housing in order for it to fit but the body of the pump is narrower than the Meziere. For it, you have to break a decent amount of fins off the fan shroud to get it to work. I prefer the CSI especially if you have the housing already off. I just used a dremel and one of the sanding bits, it was VERY simple. But everyone has there own opinions.

yeah im definitely going with a CSI WP. I just talked to a buddy who installed a Mezeire and he told me the wiring was a bit confusing. Any pointers?

Have an awesome relay schematic but cant find it. It also incorporated a switch inside the car for use at the track in the staging lanes in between passes. If i find it ill send it to you. Search this site as im certain i found it here somewhere.

Off a water temg gauge??? You want the pump to run all the time while the engine is running. Have you done a search on this site for wiring elec. WP's? Do that first and if you have any Q's let me know.

yeah i want it to run all the time but I also want to be able to keep an eye on the water temperature itself via a gauge ran to the interior.

The only way i know you can run a temg gauge is through the pass side head. You can not hack into the temp gauges that the PCM reads because they use resistances and this will interfere with the gauge readings. If you know some other way, let me know.

when you do the Electric WP install do yourself a favor and spend $40.00 for a pump kit from Painless wiring...it is simple to hook up and will be extra assurance that you do not burn up your pump and end up frying your motor..
