k, thats what I kind of thought, but wasnt exactly sure.. what kinda performance differences are there between the two? I mean could you mod the V6 just as much as you could the V8 for the same torque/hp?

Sure you can mod the V6, but is it really worth it? You could just as easily mod the V8 and be way ahead of the game.. you can get a 95 z/28 with under a 100k for around 3-5grand. IMO. I'd get the Z/28 over the v6 anyday, but if your young, insurance might be a problem. plenty of factors. do some searchs on the board here and you'll find all you need to know. Welcome to the board..

I carry only liability. IMO, it's stupid to pay a sum that large when parts for these cars are so cheap.
If you don't have enough money, I'd wait until you can afford a Z28.

If insurance is your thing, you could do what Ion said nly basic coverage: or you could try for the multi car discount...

I have the 1997 Z/28 FULL COVERAGE, Glass included.. and I also have a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird LE with basic coverage.. I told the insurance the pontiac is my main driver and the Z/28 is for pleasure... I pay 121 a month. If I had only the Z/28 on, I'd be paying well over 250 a month.. Look around. do some research.. Theres ways to save/con/ whatever have u be... you get my point

YEah insurance is a big deal for some people, I only pay 45 dollars a month for my 96 trans am, and I am only 21. btw I have full coverage.

But a v6 will never be a strong as a v8

put both cars side by side say you payed the same for both cars, and you [ut the exact same mods on both cars, the v8 will be a consedral amout more than the v6 on power.

Hyper your post was a model example of people can be totally cool to someone new to car performance, fbodys and the forum in general...way cool dude.

BlueShadow like most stated it's possible but well worth your investment long-term to get a V8, whether it be a SS or Z28 either are fine and you'll really appreciate the easy power over the v6. But as stated if underage insurance is an issue I'd go with the v6 as well. In fact I'm car hunting for my 16yr old as we speak...lol...NO HOTRODS ...insurance cost too much . Good luck and welcome to the board.
