Difference in LT1 Throttle Bodies

Ok I have a friend that was given a brand new Holley 58mm T/B for his 93 Z but on the box it says 94-97. I have also noticed that most T/B retailers have 93 only and then 94-97 anyone know the reason for this or the compatibility issues? I know the t/b on 98,99 LS1`s looks like the 00-02 but there is one piece that is actually different and if you put the newer one on the older ls1 the butterflies stay open causing the engine to idle higher. Any advice or help would be aprreciated

Lt1 and LS two different animals----don't even try to compare.

Holley 58s often problematic on the LT1s.

So I guess your question is : will a 94 fit a 93?

I'm sure someone will be able to answer that question---I assume that if the inatakes are the same, then the the answer will be yes.

If you don't get a response shortly, I will do a little research for you.

As mentioned above, the main difference is that the 93 throttle bodies have the provision for the TV cable hookup for the automatic transmission. A 94-97 throttle body will work on a 93 car as long as the car has a manual transmission.
