diff between 93-95 & 96-97

I read somewhere that 96-97 z28 has about 10 more horsepower then the 93-95? Is this true? They both have the LT1's.

it is true that the rated power is 10 more for the 96-97 cars.they are all lt1's but they made a few changes to the 96-97 cars including the cam and exhaust as well as the hard to deal with obd2 computer.

They put dual catalytic convertors on all the 96-97 and some 95's. It supposedly gains 10 HP because instead of going into on cat from both sides each side has its own cat before the 2 sides meet and become one pipe. Dunno if this helps any

This is a 'supposed', it was not actually rated at a higher HP, this is due to the dual cats.

Read the FBody FAQ for info on the year differences.
