Dielectric grease on opti?

Dielectric grease on opti?

should there be dielectric grease on opti connections where the boots plug into? If not, what issues can this cause?

i dont think it can hurt just prevent moisture to work its way in the boot

my friend said it's a no-no as per the shop manual....just making sure it wont cause problems because I put some on the boots before connecting to opti...

eh, i didnt as i believe it says not to in my gm shop manual if i recall correctly.. so far so good with no grease on opti side for the last 40,000 miles on original 140,000 mile opti.
