Did I do this right?
Finally got the TES system installed...Asome
http://community.webshots.com/user/onebadfbodyz28 But, I was installing the SPEC... The Haynes manual says to torqe the Pressure plate bolts to 15foor lbs then turn 30 degrees ...I did this, but when I went to double check the torque specks the ratchet wouldn't click. So I turned it somore then it clicked at 15lbs then I twistd it 30 degress agaon..did I do something wrong? Shouldn't it of had held the torque specs the first time? |
If it didn't click it sounds like you didn't put enough force on the ratchet...but only 15 ft. lbs you should've had that easy..

Put some loctite on those bolts as well.

Make sure u check and make sure they are tight once a week or so. I forgot about them for a month, and when i did check, one bolt was so loose i was able to just grab it and pull it out. |
LOL, wheelman, I think you two are mixing up the PP bolts and the headers.
on the PP, I go 30ftlbs or so. no loctite, never had one back out. If you went 15, +30.. and then you checked again and it was below 15, you either messed up or the bolt is toast(abotu to break). Header bolts, check them after about a week or so, then maybe once every other month. if dont properly, they wont back out after the first retightening. |
