Destroyed front suspension + other stuff

I have a 97 z28 and ended up in a ditch a few days ago due to slippery wet roads and fishtailing. You dont have to read the whole thing if you dont want just answer one or two questions if you get a chance. I broke my rim and tire and broke something in my suspension plus my hood wont close right. I am going to take it to a collision shopand have them evaluate it.

My car's steering is completely messed up and the car makes a lot of oooooh noises when driving. What do you think is wrong? I want to get this fixed but want to save as much money as i can. I am going to get an estimate of what is broken and all and then see waht ican install and cant.

I have reason to believe that part 11 in this diagram: http://shbox.com/1/front_suspension.jpg is bent and the wheel hub(Does anyone know what part 11 is called and if i can get it cheaper than straight from gm(i cant find aftermarket or anything like that)). Also what do you else do you think is broken.

Do you think my frame is bent from landing in a ditch or does my hood just need to be adjusted (Can be closed if i push it a little to the side)?

I believe that part is what you call the front spindle. Im sure you could grab one from a junkyard.

EDIT: ebay, "camaro spindle" = 20 bucks

What he said. The spindle is what bends 90% of the time. $25-40 look around on here, and on ebay. Try www.fbodyjunk.com they gave me one for a good price

Technically, #11 is called the steering knuckle. IMO, I would equate a spindle to the hub.

If your hood does not close, sounds like you bent the unibody and would need to have it put on a frame machine to straighten it.

Perfect time to go to the LS1 brakes, it includes the knuckle, and provides better resistance to fading.

Re: Destroyed front suspension + other stuff

I got an estimate, from a collision shop. My crossmember is bent (Can be fixed by them for 100$). My steering knuckle(Recommended a hub change as well) and LCA are bent. The tie rods (Inner and Outter) may also be wrecked.

What do you recommend i do? They want 1300$ to change this stuff and do an alignment. How hard would it be for me to do the tie rods and steering knuckle + lca? I know my basics but never did any suspension work before. Do you think i could have them do the the frame straightening and then i could do my suspension stuff with bmr or junkyard parts and then have them do an alignment? Also, what order should i do it in?

sigh i got soo much trouble (A lot of paint damage on my rear bumper and one of my rims is brand new and a lot shinier than the rest).

If anyone has any good suspension knowledge or know how to do the job, talk to me on aim, my sn is phenomic69. I really would appreciate it.
